Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the MythScribe AI platform, website, applications, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.
MythScribe AI is designed to help tabletop RPG players and game masters create characters, encounters, backstories, worlds, and other creative content for games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Daggerheart. We want to keep the platform safe, creative, and enjoyable for everyone. This policy outlines what is and is not permitted when using the Service.
1. General Obligations
When using the Service, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
- Use the Service only for its intended purpose: creating and managing tabletop RPG content
- Respect the rights and dignity of other users and third parties
- Provide accurate information when creating your account and interacting with the Service
- Promptly report any violations of this AUP or security vulnerabilities to abuse@mythscribeai.com
- Review and take responsibility for all AI-generated content before using it in any context
2. AI-Specific Prohibitions
The Service uses AI models to generate creative content. You must not use the AI features of the Service to:
2.1 Generate Harmful Content
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Any content that depicts, describes, or promotes the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors is strictly prohibited. This includes fictional depictions. Violations will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities.
- Non-consensual intimate content: Content depicting real individuals in sexual or intimate situations without their consent, including deepfakes or AI-generated likenesses
- Detailed instructions for violence or harm: Content that provides specific, actionable instructions for committing real-world violence, creating weapons, manufacturing drugs, or causing physical harm to people or animals
- Self-harm or suicide content: Content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide
2.2 Engage in Deception and Fraud
- Impersonation: Generating content that impersonates real individuals, organizations, or government entities with the intent to deceive
- Misinformation: Using the Service to create false or misleading content intended to be presented as factual information, news, or official communications
- Academic dishonesty: Using the Service to produce content intended to be submitted as your own original work in academic settings where AI assistance is prohibited
- Fraudulent schemes: Using AI-generated content for phishing, social engineering, scams, or other deceptive practices targeting individuals or organizations
- Deepfakes: Creating realistic but fabricated images, audio, video, or text of real people without their consent and for deceptive purposes
2.3 Produce Regulated or Restricted Content
- Content related to the development, planning, or execution of terrorist activities
- Content that facilitates human trafficking or exploitation
- Content designed to manipulate elections, political processes, or public opinion through deception
- Content that violates export control laws or sanctions
3. Content Restrictions
You must not use the Service to create, store, transmit, or distribute content that:
- Is illegal: Violates any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
- Promotes harassment or bullying: Targets, threatens, intimidates, or harasses any individual or group, including through doxxing, stalking, or coordinated abuse
- Contains hate speech: Promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against any person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic
- Promotes real-world violence: Glorifies, incites, or encourages violence against real people, groups, or institutions (note: fictional combat encounters and narrative violence within the context of tabletop RPG gameplay are permitted, as this is a core element of the TTRPG genre)
- Is defamatory: Contains false statements of fact that damage the reputation of a real person or organization
- Infringes intellectual property: Violates the copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights of any third party
- Contains malware or malicious code: Includes viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any other harmful software
- Is spam or unsolicited advertising: Uses the Service to send unsolicited commercial messages or promote products/services unrelated to tabletop RPGs
Context matters: We recognize that tabletop RPGs often involve mature themes such as conflict, moral ambiguity, dark fantasy, and narrative tension. Content that explores these themes in the context of collaborative storytelling and game preparation is generally permitted. However, content that crosses the line into gratuitous depictions of real-world harm, exploitation, or illegal activity is not.
4. System Abuse and Technical Restrictions
You must not:
4.1 Circumvent Rate Limits and Usage Controls
- Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or exceed the usage limits, rate limits, or quotas associated with your subscription plan
- Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or other programmatic means to access the Service or submit requests at a rate exceeding normal human usage patterns
- Chain or batch requests in a manner designed to consume disproportionate system resources
4.2 Reverse Engineering and Extraction
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or architecture of the Service or underlying AI models
- Attempt to extract, reconstruct, or replicate the weights, parameters, or training data of any AI model used by the Service
- Use the Service to benchmark, evaluate, or compare AI models for competitive purposes without prior written permission
4.3 Scraping and Data Collection
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service, including SRD content, AI-generated output, or user interface elements
- Build or populate a competing product or dataset using content obtained from the Service
- Systematically download, store, or redistribute content from the Service in bulk
4.4 Security Violations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or any part of the Service infrastructure
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any connected system without express written authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including DDoS attacks, resource exhaustion, or injection attacks
- Upload or transmit malicious code, files, or data designed to damage, disable, or exploit the Service
5. SRD Content and Third-Party Licenses
5.1 License Compliance
The Service incorporates content from tabletop RPG Systems Reference Documents (SRDs) under the Open Game License (OGL) v1.0a (for D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e) and the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY-4.0) (for Daggerheart). When using content generated by the Service that incorporates SRD material:
- You must comply with the applicable license terms if you redistribute or publish such content outside the platform
- For OGL content, you must include the OGL license notice and proper Section 15 attribution in any published work that uses Open Game Content
- For CC-BY-4.0 content (Daggerheart), you must provide appropriate credit to Darrington Press, indicate if changes were made, and include a link to the CC-BY-4.0 license
5.2 SRD Redistribution Restrictions
- You may not use the Service to extract, compile, or redistribute raw SRD data in bulk or in a format that competes with or substitutes for the original SRD publications
- You may not create derivative databases, APIs, or services that serve SRD content obtained through the Service
- Personal use of SRD-derived content for your own tabletop RPG games is permitted and encouraged
6. Account Sharing and Multi-Accounting
- No account sharing: Your account is personal to you. You may not share your login credentials with others or allow multiple individuals to use a single account. Each user must have their own account.
- No multi-accounting: You may not create or maintain multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, exploit free trials, evade enforcement actions, or for any other purpose that violates these Terms. We may use technical measures to detect and prevent multi-accounting.
- Account responsibility: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether authorized by you or not.
7. Fair Use of AI Generation Resources
Each subscription plan includes defined usage limits for AI generation features (such as the number of AI chat messages, characters generated, encounters created, etc. per billing period). These limits exist to ensure fair access to shared AI resources for all users.
- You must use AI generation features within the limits of your subscription plan
- Excessive or automated usage that significantly exceeds normal human interaction patterns may be throttled or restricted, even within your plan's stated limits
- We reserve the right to implement and adjust rate limits, cooldown periods, and usage caps to maintain service quality for all users
- If you consistently need higher usage limits, consider upgrading to a higher-tier plan
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any content or activity that violates this AUP, please report it to us immediately:
- Email: abuse@mythscribeai.com
When reporting a violation, please include as much detail as possible, including a description of the violation, any relevant screenshots or URLs, and the approximate date and time of the activity. We will review all reports promptly and take appropriate action.
We will not retaliate against any user who reports a violation in good faith. False or malicious reports intended to harm another user are themselves a violation of this AUP.
9. Enforcement and Consequences
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action in response to any suspected violation of this AUP. Actions we may take include, at our sole discretion and without limitation:
- Warning: Issuing a written warning for minor or first-time violations
- Content removal: Removing or disabling access to content that violates this AUP
- Feature restriction: Temporarily limiting access to specific features (e.g., AI generation, chat)
- Account suspension: Temporarily suspending your account for a defined period
- Account termination: Permanently terminating your account for serious, repeated, or egregious violations
- Legal action: Pursuing legal remedies, including reporting illegal activity to law enforcement authorities
The severity of the enforcement action will be proportionate to the nature, severity, and frequency of the violation. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any enforcement action and provide an explanation, except where prohibited by law or where notice could compromise an investigation.
If your account is terminated for a violation of this AUP, you may not create a new account without our prior written permission. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any fees paid.
10. Appeals
If you believe that an enforcement action was taken against your account in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@mythscribeai.com within fourteen (14) days of receiving notice of the action. Please include your account email, a description of the enforcement action, and an explanation of why you believe it was made in error. We will review your appeal and respond within fourteen (14) business days.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to address new risks, technologies, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice within the Service at least fifteen (15) days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
