Refund Policy

This Refund Policy describes the terms and conditions for refunds, cancellations, and credits related to MythScribe AI subscriptions. This policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use.
We want you to be satisfied with MythScribe AI. We offer a generous free trial so you can evaluate the Service before committing to a paid subscription. If you have questions about billing or need assistance with a refund, please do not hesitate to contact us.
1. Free Trial
1.1 Trial Period
All subscription plans (Seeker at $5/month, Adventurer at $10/month, and Archmage at $20/month) include a seven (7) day free trial for new subscribers. During the trial period, you have full access to the features of your selected plan at no charge.
1.2 No Charge During Trial
You will not be charged during the free trial period. Your payment method will be authorized (a temporary hold may appear) but will not be charged until the trial ends.
1.3 Canceling Before Trial Ends
If you cancel your subscription before the seven-day trial period expires, you will not be charged. Your access to premium features will continue until the end of the trial period, at which point your account will revert to the free tier (if available) or become inactive. You can cancel through your account settings or via the Stripe customer billing portal.
1.4 Automatic Conversion
If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the subscription rate for your selected tier. You will be charged the first month's fee on the day the trial expires.
1.5 Trial Limitations
Free trials are limited to one per person and one per payment method. We reserve the right to decline a free trial if we detect that you have previously used a trial (e.g., through a different account or payment method). Abuse of the trial system may result in account termination per our Acceptable Use Policy.
2. Monthly Subscription Refunds
2.1 General Policy
Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable once the billing period begins. When you subscribe or your subscription renews, you are purchasing access to the Service for that entire monthly billing period.
2.2 Exceptions
We will issue a full refund for a monthly subscription payment in the following circumstances:
- Billing errors: If you were charged an incorrect amount, charged twice for the same period, or charged after you had already canceled your subscription before the renewal date
- Service unavailability: If the Service was substantially unavailable or unusable for a significant portion of your billing period due to an issue on our end (see Section 6 on Service Credits)
- Unauthorized charges: If a charge was made without your authorization (please also secure your account immediately and contact us)
2.3 Discretionary Refunds
In cases not covered by the exceptions above, we may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. Factors we may consider include the date of the charge, the amount of Service usage during the billing period, your account history, and the reason for the request.
3. Annual Subscription Refunds
3.1 14-Day Refund Window
If you purchase an annual subscription, you may request a pro-rated refund within fourteen (14) calendar days of the initial purchase or renewal date. The refund will be calculated based on the unused portion of the annual term, minus any days of access already consumed at the monthly rate for your plan.
3.2 After 14 Days
After the fourteen-day refund window has passed, annual subscriptions are non-refundable. You will retain access to the Service for the remainder of your annual billing period. If you cancel, your subscription will not renew at the end of the annual term.
3.3 Exceptions
The same exceptions that apply to monthly subscriptions (billing errors, service unavailability, unauthorized charges) also apply to annual subscriptions, regardless of the 14-day window.
4. EU/EEA Consumer Cooling-Off Period
4.1 Your Right to Withdraw
If you are a consumer located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within fourteen (14) calendar days of the purchase date without giving any reason, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).
4.2 How to Exercise This Right
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by sending a clear statement (e.g., an email) to support@mythscribeai.com before the 14-day period expires. You may use the following template:
“I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the provision of the MythScribe AI [plan name] subscription, ordered on [date]. Name: [your name]. Email: [your account email].”
4.3 Refund for Withdrawal
If you withdraw within the 14-day period, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than fourteen (14) days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw. The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction.
4.4 Waiver of Cooling-Off Period
By beginning to use the Service during the cooling-off period (e.g., by using AI features, creating content, or accessing premium tools), you acknowledge that you may lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed. However, if you request withdrawal before the service has been fully performed during the cooling-off period, you may be entitled to a pro-rated refund for the unused portion.
5. How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time using either of the following methods:
- Account settings: Navigate to your account settings within MythScribe AI and select the option to cancel your subscription
- Stripe customer portal: Access the Stripe billing portal through the link provided in your account settings or in any billing email from Stripe
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to your plan's features until the period you have already paid for expires. After cancellation:
- Your subscription will not renew
- No further charges will be made to your payment method
- Your account and data will remain accessible (your content is not deleted when you cancel)
- You will lose access to premium features at the end of your current billing period
6. Service Credits for Outages
6.1 Eligibility
If the Service experiences a significant outage (defined as the Service being materially unavailable or unusable for all or substantially all users) lasting more than four (4) consecutive hours during a calendar month, affected active subscribers may be eligible for a service credit.
6.2 Credit Calculation
Service credits are calculated as a pro-rated credit based on the duration of the qualifying outage relative to the total hours in the billing period. For example, a 24-hour outage in a 30-day month would result in a credit equal to approximately 1/30th of your monthly subscription fee.
6.3 How to Request
To request a service credit, contact us at support@mythscribeai.com within thirty (30) days of the outage. Include the dates and times of the outage you experienced. Service credits are applied to your next billing cycle and are not redeemable for cash.
6.4 Exclusions
Service credits do not apply to outages caused by:
- Scheduled maintenance (for which we provide advance notice)
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, widespread internet outages, etc.)
- Issues with your own internet connection, device, or browser
- Third-party service provider outages beyond our reasonable control
- Your violation of the Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy
7. Chargebacks
If you have a billing dispute, we strongly encourage you to contact us at support@mythscribeai.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company. We are committed to resolving billing disputes quickly and fairly.
Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in:
- Suspension of your account pending resolution of the dispute
- Delays in resolving the issue (chargebacks typically take 60-90 days to process through banks)
- Additional fees that may be passed through to you if the chargeback is found to be unwarranted
If you do file a chargeback, we will cooperate fully with the investigation process and provide documentation of the transaction and your use of the Service.
8. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact us with the following information:
- Your account email address
- The date and amount of the charge in question
- The reason for your refund request

We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within two (2) business days and to make a final determination within five (5) business days of receiving all necessary information.
9. Refund Processing Time
Once a refund is approved, it will be processed through Stripe to the original payment method. Please allow five (5) to ten (10) business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or credit card company. We have no control over the speed at which your financial institution processes the refund after it has been issued on our end.
Refunds are issued in the original currency of the transaction. Any currency conversion fees charged by your bank are your responsibility.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will not retroactively affect refund requests made before the update. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice within the Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
